 The Picture shows how a red carpet will create a great impression as your guests arrive at your event. This was a grand opening of a new showroom.
In this example of the use of the red carpet the client originally just asked for a red carpet to go inside the building with the stanchions just inside the door.
In our dialogue with the client on the first phone call. The red carpet request and the information I was receiving did not seem quite logical. I was not quite sure I understood their concept.
As we usually do with our clients we will visit the site. In looking at the site and their requirements I can make suggestions based on experience and their budget.
I spoke to the onsite manager about the positioning of the red carpet and the stanchions, also where the bar and food service would be and where the reception desk would be placed.
In this instance the original idea involved many running feet of red carpet, which did not fit in the budget, also the idea entailed the red carpet running up stares, then making a 45 degree bend at the top of the stairs. This raised safety concerns.
As we consult with our clients I needed to speak to the owner of the company about his requirements for red carpet and stanchions for event.
I had already measured the space, and calculated the lengths of red carpet requirements in different layouts.
What was the objective of the red carpet? Firstly, when their guests arrive they would know which door they needed to enter for the event. Secondly, to make their guests feel special as they walked up the red carpet. Thirdly, it was to highlight the new venue to any passing traffic.
From this process the owner liked my concept and use of the red carpet, we agreed, and the result is in the picture.
Other examples for use of red carpets and stanchions are:
- At school events we have used red carpets at graduation services and at graduations dances.
- In our Santa's Village we have a red carpet for children to walk up to meet Santa.
- Red carpets have been used for movie events also for CD launch parties.
- Many themed events use red carpets as props to enhance the event.
- Nightclubs will also use red carpets and stanchions for many events.
- At funerals and wakes the cortège walk up the red carpet.
- There are many occasions were the event can be enhanced by using red carpet and stanchions.
